Practical course: Vegetation mapping and sampling (field course) (28183)

The course will take place near Cogne (Italy) in the first week of the semester break (dates will be announced). The aim is to implement the different methods in vegetation science in the field and to collect and analyze vegetation data in groups. Qualtitative and quantitative traits of vegetation units will be sampled along elevational gradeints and in characteristic alpine and subalpine ecosystems. To be able to take part in this course knowledge of plant identification als well as a theoretical overview of methods in vegetation science are required (pariticipation in the course "Vegetation Science").

The course is conducted in close collaboration with the administration and scienctists of the Gran Paradiso National Park:
