January 2019: Dr. Severin Irl receives the Science Award for Physical Geography of Prof. Dr. Frithjof Voss Foundation. January 2019: Ange Raharivololoniaina receives the IUFRO Student Award for Excellence in Forest Sciences. September 2017: German Environmental Prize 2017 goes to Dr. Kai Frobel. Dr. Kai Frobel, BUND e.V., is a lecturer in geoecology for 15 years and has written his dissertation at the Chair of Biogeography. He was honored i.a. because of its decisive involvement for the initiation and promotion of the first and largest comprehensive German conservation project, the "Green Belt". July 2017: Dr. Severin Irl received the Strasburger Award 2017 by the German Botanical Society. Aug. 2016: Andreas Schweiger received the Bernd-Rendel Award by the DFG.
