Abstract:
Using data from 74 montane grasslands, we assessed the capacity of Ellenberg N-values for predicting herbage yield. Alternatives included an ordination model and regression models based on soil variables. Cross-validation procedures indicated that Ellenberg values and ordination model performed equally well and were superior to models based on soil variables.
