Which plants benefit most from warmer winters?

I am currently studying inter- and intraspecific differences in plant responses to warmer winters (shorter duration, higher average temperature, longer and warmer midwinter thaw periods, variable frequency of soil freeze thaw cycles, decreased snow cover). Interspecific differences among common German grassland species are compared with intraspecific differences among grassland provenances from climatically distinct European regions.
