Molluscs have their highest species densities in floodplains. They are good indicators for functional ecosystem managment. The investigation site is part of the european project NATURA 2000. The diploma thesis studies the influence of habitat parameters like vegetation, dead wood and vegetation cover on species abundance and composition of mollusc population. Comparing dam position and dam distance on the basis of samples should reveal effects on mollucs population structure.
