DESCRIPTION:Introduction There is overwhelming scientific evidence and ris
 ing public awareness that humans have started to modify the Earth at an u
 nprecedented scale. Global change is a complex set of interacting process
 es with climate\, land use and transport as the probably most significant
  drivers. Biological invasions are an important component of global chang
 e\, and invasive organisms have been described both as factor and symptom
  of local shifts in habitat conditions. NEOBIOTA 2010 is the first confe
 rence focusing on biological invasions in a changing environment. We seek
 a wide perspective including contributions from science and  management\;
 there will be no bias to particular species groups\, habitats or regions.
  The conference invites a number of outstanding experts dealing with diff
 erent aspects of invasions in a changing environment\, and we welcome an
 international audience with interest in this field. Specialist sessions wi
 ll allow for in-depth discussions on contrasting methodological approache
 s to biological invasions\, including macroecological analyses\, populati
 on models and molecular methods. There will also be room for applied topi
 cs including impact\, risk assessment\, socio-economic aspects and contro
 l of invasive species in a changing world.Link to the conference page.
